I’m Zach Butala—a naval reserve commander, airline captain, and most importantly, a proud Tahoma parent. For over eight years, I’ve been active in our schools and community, working side by side with educators, families, and students—coaching, volunteering, listening, and showing up.

I’m running for the Tahoma School Board to be a steady voice and a true servant leader—someone who leads by listening first, puts others’ needs ahead of their own, and works to empower those around them. I want to champion students, support educators, and act as a conduit for the entire community. My goal is to help every student thrive by building a district where parents are heard, and teachers are valued, with every decision reflecting our shared commitment to putting kids first.
